Phish Food, Cherry Garcia, Half Baked and New York Super Fudge. Chances are, one is your favorite. The innovative, fun and fluffy ice cream names popularly coined by Ben & Jerry's are household names in this day and age.
You may be wondering, "why are you mentioning Ben & Jerry's ice cream on a Barack Obama blog?" The Seattle Times reported that, "The founders of Ben & Jerry's endorsed Barack Obama on Monday, and lent his Vermont campaign two "ObamaMobiles" that will tour the state and give away scoops of "Cherries for Change" ice cream," in their article titled, "Ben & Jerry's Founders Endorse Obama."
Jerry Greenfield told the Associated Press, "What we saw is that when you want real change it's not a marketing slogan. You have to do things differently. And that is not going to be done by someone who's been involved in the system for years and years," Greenfield said. "It needs to come from inside and Barack Obama has it."
This isn't the first time Ben & Jerry's endorsed a pop culture and social icon. Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies is a popular flavor still sold today, and "One Sweet Whirled" was a flavor named after a hit DMB song, in honor of their environmental and social work. A tour was sponsored to enlighten fans about the looming global warming problem and to promote change.

Though handing out ice cream at campaign events may not be enough to sway the vote in Obama's favor, it sure is a sweet surprise.
